Oil discharges in marshy section of Plaquemines Parish

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Coast Guard and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries crews work tonight to clear a crude oil discharge near Southwest Pass.

They estimate 840 gallons of crude oil discharged July 28 from a flowline owned by Texas Petroleum Management. The cause of the discharge is under investigation.

Containment boom is already in place to limit damage in the marshy area of Plaquemines Parish.
