Who Dat Making Headlines: Lorde who? New Captain Marvel

Who dat making headlines: Lorde 'snubbed', There's a new Captain Marvel

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Just because you're famous, it doesn't mean you will be recognized all of the time.

Singer Lorde shared an awkward Uber ride she had earlier this week on Twitter. Instead of being asked for an autograph or picture, she found herself listening to her driver "freak out" about another celebrity who had just been in the car.

"I can feel it from the back seat, his dazed glow. He's probably now pretending that I am not here, that they are still together, and alone."

It's unclear which city the "Royals" star was in but she did tell a fan online that she was on her way to the studio.

VMA Nominations

Two of music's most popular female artists top the nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Adele's "Hello" and Beyonce's "Formation" videos will go against other big names like Kayne West, Justin Bieber, and Drake for the "Video of the Year" category.

Queen Bey leads with 11 nominations, which is the most she's ever been nominated for at the VMA's. Adele follows close behind with eight.

The VMA's will air next month from Madison Square Garden in New York. ?

Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson to take on a huge action role.

Marvel announced Larson will play the role of "Captain Marvel" aka Carol Danvers in an upcoming film. The announcement was made during Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend.

Larson tweeted a picture shortly after the announcement sporting a Marvel cap. It will be the studio's first female-led film.

The movie is set for March 2019.
