HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WVUE) -

It was a proud moment today for a lot of workers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

For nearly 11 minutes, the world's most powerful rocket engine, the RS-25, completed a successful test burn.
The achievement at Stennis Space Center marks another step in development of the Space Launch System.
NASA plans to eventually use that system to launch humans beyond the moon, including a manned mission to Mars.
