Caught on camera: Suspects fleeing after Gentilly double shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD has released a surveillance picture which reportedly shows the two suspects fleeing from a double shooting outside a Gentilly store.  The shooting happened Friday, July 29 at the Franklin Discount Store, 6100 Franklin Avenue.

Police said two men, ages 31 and 39, were exiting a store where a large crowd had gathered outside. Shots rang out and one man was hit in the side and back while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the wrist. Both men were hospitalized. There was no word on their condition.

A man who was on the scene told FOX 8 that he was related to one of the victims, and that the victim had gotten married earlier that day.. He said the victim was in the store buying something for his father-in-law, and when he came out, someone was shooting. He said the victim was running from the gunfire when he was shot.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.  Their condition is unknown.
