NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A New Orleans man thought he had taken proper security measures when he locked up his drum set safely in the trunk of his car, only to find his car had been stolen. The good news is that he found his stolen car, but the drums were gone.
The theft happened July 26, 2016. The victim told New Orleans police detectives that he parked his car in the area of his home in the 1600 block of Calhoun Street. After he discovered the car was stolen early the next morning, he used a tracking device to locate his car more than 10 miles away in New Orleans east. He called police, and officers went to the 6300 block of Keubel Drive and located the vehicle in a shared driveway. However, the victim's drum set, some clothes and a personal check were all missing from the trunk of the car.
The owner says the brand name for the drum set is "ddrum." If anyone comes in contact with these drums, the NOPD is asking that they contact any Second District Detective at (504) 658-6020. Citizens with information can also call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
