NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It has been another blazing hot day across the area with some places reach the mid to upper 90's. Storms have been few and far between. We are probably looking at mostly spotty storms continuing through Wednesday and possible into Thursday.
By Friday, the heat will loosen its grip just a tad allowing for more showers and storms to cover the area. The same pattern will last into the weekend with highs in the lower 90's and rain chances around 50%.
It could turn extra stormy by early next week but it's too soon to provide any details.
Tropical Storm Earl has formed in the Caribbean. It will stay well to our south as it moves into the Yucatan later this week, then Mexico over the weekend. No additional tropical development is expected for the rest of the week.
