Deputies bust suspected meth dealer

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Deputies in Lafourche Parish arrested a 19-year-old man from Cut off, Louisiana on charges he was dealing methamphetamine.  Sheriff Craig Webre says deputies obtained a search warrant for Devan Day following an investigation by the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force.   When agents went to Day's home on August 2,  they immediate taken into custody.  

During the search of the Day's residence, agents say they located small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as seven (7) clonazepam pills, five (5) hydrocodone pills, assorted drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

During questioning, Sheriff Webre says Day admitted to ownership of the items. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked.  He's facing  charges of distributing meth, as well as possession of meth, marijuana, clonazepam, hydrocodone, and drug paraphernalia.  He was also charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond is set at $37,000.
