NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police need help in recovering a NOPD officer's stolen pistol and police credentials.

According to police, the officer's department-issued Glock Model 22 .40 caliber pistol, a fully-loaded magazine for the gun, a cartridge for a TASER and the officer's NOPD credentials were inside his personal car, a 2008 Nissan Altima, when the car was stolen from outside the officer's home Friday night.

Police recovered the officer's car Saturday, around 5:27pm, near Utah Street and Memorial Park Drive in Algiers. However, the gun, police credentials and other items are still missing.

Police say that the gun's serial number is NO-0607-PD.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call NOPD detective LaKeith Jernigan or any member of the NOPD Fourth Distict Detectives Unit at 504-658-6040.
