WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVUE) -

The Saints struck free agent gold in 2015 with the pickup of Canadian Football League star Delvin Breaux. In 2016 the Saints went back north of the border again to grab Erick Harris, a former teammate of Breaux with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

"We're totally two different people. He plays corner, I play safety. We both have different skill sets," said Harris. "I think the story is tremendous in how we came about, and how we were friends up in Canada. He went and put his reputation out there for me. The story will never get old for me. He always tells me it's your time now. I always give him credit for that, and I'm very thankful for that."

Intercepting Brees this past Saturday gives Harris confidence that he can play in the NFL. Come Tuesday the learning curve gets steeper with Tom Brady to defend.

"It's the same way when I get out there with Drew and those guys on offense. I say 'hey what's up Drew in the locker room', and then I hit the field, I'm like 'woah I'm reading Drew'. Practicing against the best will only make you better. I'm looking forward to the opportunity. I'm going to take full advantage of it," said Harris.

Harris is juggling his pro life, with a personal life that includes an expanding family. A newborn is in the Harris fold, but thanks to technology he can track his every move.

"We FaceTime through Facebook and stuff like that," said Harris. "Just getting to see my sons and the interaction. Gotta give a lot of credit to my wife...she's tremendous. She helps my job be easy. Because I know everything is taken care of back at home. I would say I miss them, but it's motivation every day."

Not much movement in my AP poll this week, but that will change after this weekend, The Iron Bowl should shake up top six. The Tide are favored by four, but the Tigers come into the matchup red-hot. The winner of this big one goes to Atlanta and the SEC Championship game. LSU moves up to No. 16 in my latest rankings, and should only move upward going forward. If they beat Texas A&M, and win their bowl game, the Tigers could land close to my top ten.
