Accused heroin dealer faces homicide charges for selling drugs that led to overdose death

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

A man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for selling heroin that led to a fatal overdose.

After an 11-month investigation, Slidell Police arrested Joseph Laue.

Laue is charged with second-degree homicide, and two counts of heroin distribution.

Last August, Slidell police found Albert Marant, of the 400 block of Codifer Street, dead of an apparent drug overdose.

The St. Tammany Parish coroner confirmed Marant died of a heroin overdose.

Laue was identified as the supplier of the drugs that killed Marant and was selling heroin in the Slidell area.
