NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The former Six Flags site in eastern New Orleans could be ready for sale next month.
The city's Industrial Development Board says a new appraisal for the property came in at $3 million dollars.
The appraisal also determined the abandoned amusement park rides on the property are worthless.
Tuesday, the board voted to conduct an environmental assessment, new survey and title search to get the site market-ready.
Board president Alan Phillipson said, "We will have discussions back and forth. Hopefully, for September our intention is to try to come to a conclusion as to what to do with the property."
The board is eager to see the property sold and brought back into commerce.
Security alone costs more than $200,000 per year.
