Flooding and heavy rain disrupted the day for many people in Southeast Louisiana, but despite the tough times, some residents still found a way to make the best of the situation.

Enter Jo Guidry – a Cajun Michael Phelps of sorts. Well, maybe not quite.

Rain was pouring down Friday morning when he decided to make a splash in the Louisiana version of a lane in an Olympic swimming pool.

His Facebook post simply reads “Watching the Olympics + living in South Louisiana.” The video, however, is gold.

Guidry stretches and dives into a ditch along a neighborhood roadway. It’s unclear just where in Louisiana he’s at, but it’s safe to say he’s in the hearts and minds of the 900,000 people who have already watched the video.

He finished his swim in less than 20 seconds. It is unconfirmed, but let’s just call the feat a world record for the heck of it.
