ROBERT, LA (WVUE) - In Tangipahoa Parish, street flooding is making it very difficult to get around for some residents in and around the Robert, La. area this morning.
A lot of truckers know Robert for the Walmart distribution center in this area just west of Covington.
Residents in the area are dealing with devastating flooding for the second time since March, many say this time is much worse.
Trucks were washed across roads and homes flooded through windows.
Parish schools are closed for the week while residents and officials clean up from the flooding.
On Highway 190 water from a tributary of the Tangipahoa River swallowed a portion of the road near the Walmart distribution center. Water pouring over La. 445 also swamped some cars.
Some people were left stranded and had to find another way home to gather as many of their possessions as possible.
