Two men arrested in Saturday Kenner homicide

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Two men were arrested for killing a Kenner man Saturday, according to Kenner police.

On Saturday, just after 1 p.m., the Kenner Police Department responded to a shooting at the Princess Properties apartment complex located at 2200 block of 25th Street in Kenner.

When they arrived, officers found a man shot several times.

The victim was identified as Tommie Hunter, Jr. 64, of Kenner.

He was taken to Ochsner Kenner where he was pronounced dead.

Hunter was shot several times inside his apartment.

Shortly after Hunter was killed, police detained and arrested two men identified by witnesses seen fleeing from Hunter's apartment.

Lance McIntyre, 25, of the 900 block of Calhoun Street in Metairie, and Shawn Briscoe, 32, of the 3100 block of Albany Street, in Kenner.

Both are charged with first-degree murder and aggravated burglary.

Briscoe is a convicted sex offender who has also been convicted of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia (2005), carnal knowledge of a juvenile (2007), and failure to register as a sex offender (2008).

During the investigation, police recovered a .40 caliber handgun reported stolen from St. John the Baptist Parish.

Police are searching another gun believed to have been used in this murder.
