BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

The LSU campus will be partially open Aug. 16 for some limited activities including Intersession. The LSU Child Care Center and the LSU Lab School will be closed on Tuesday.

Intersession, which consists of for-credit classes, will be held in all its usual classrooms. Intersession is already underway, and for students to receive credit for those classes, the session needs to be completed before fall semester begins. Professors will work individually with students who cannot get to campus or have other flood-related issues that prevent them from attending class on Tuesday. Those students should contact their professors directly.

Below is a list of activities/events open on Tuesday:

The LSU Union will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, not all food vendors and restaurants in the Union will be open. CC’s coffee house in the Union will be open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Chick-fil-A in the Union will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Tiger Card office in the Union will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide student ID cards to students who are already on campus and in need of a card.

The LSU Bookstore will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, Starbucks in the bookstore will NOT be open.

The UREC will be open from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Both LSU Dining Halls will be open Tuesday to serve two meals to students who live on campus. The dining halls will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the first meal, and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the second meal. Students will be asked to swipe their LSU ID cards upon entering.

At this time, Move-In Day is still scheduled for Wednesday, Aug.17. Any changes to that schedule will be communicated when they are decided. Meanwhile, it is best for students who are in a safe and dry location to stay where they are and not move in at LSU until the university reopens. However, any students who are arriving on campus before that time, especially those coming from out of state or who have travel plans that cannot be changed, will be welcomed, and can move into their residence halls.

All other events and activities on campus are closed Tuesday.
