ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Across the North Shore hundreds of residents are starting the agonizing clean up. And while it was an epic rain but many believe substandard drainage is to blame.
North of Goodbee on the streets south of Savanna Branch, dozens of residents are cleaning up again for the second time in five months. It is a huge smelly mess in the heat and it's something you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.
"This time we had 6 inches in the house, but it's just enough to damage all the baseboards," said Martha Dardenne. "We got a brand-new refrigerator. It's gone, and we will have flooring issues."
The situation being repeated in hundreds of homes across South Louisiana.
