LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Secondary search crews were going door-to-door Wednesday in hard-hit Livingston Parish checking to see if anyone was still trapped.
Neighborhoods have been devastated by flooding, and debris piles were a common sight. Spray-painted driveways indicated which homes had been checked by search crews.
The state fire marshal said they have found some flood victims who had been trapped in their homes for days. He said so far they haven't found anyone who was hurt.
The Livingston Parish president estimates about 85 to 90 percent of the homes in Denham Springs have been destroyed or damaged by flooding.
The water was still rising Wednesday in the French Settlement area as floodwaters move from north to south.
