TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Tangipahoa Parish School System will resume classes starting Wednesday, Aug. 24.
School Superintendent Mark Kolwe said all facilities will be restored and will be fully open for the return of students.
All employees will return to work Monday, Aug. 22.
The district's registration centers in Hammond and Amite will open Monday. Students who are new to the district as well as any student who has not previously registered may do so at these centers from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Pre-K and Kindergarten students will not begin classes next week. Schools will continue testing for these students from Aug. 22-30, and then Pre-K/K students will have a "staggered" entry into school on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The first day when all Pre-K/K students will attend school as complete classes is Friday, Sept. 2.
High school jamborees will go on as scheduled next week. Junior high jamborees have been cancelled.
