NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police and the FBI are looking for a man wanted for robbing a bank in eastern New Orleans and carjacking a couple almost a week later.

Dwayne “Butter” Winans, 22, is accused of walking into the Fidelity Bank in the 5500 block of Crowder Blvd. on Aug. 4 disguised as a woman. Investigators say he gave a demand note to the teller and escaped in a four-door Honda with an undisclosed amount of money.

They believe he had a getaway driver.

On Aug. 12, authorities say Winans carjacked a couple in a second-district neighborhood around 11:45 p.m.

Winans approached the couple as they got out of their 2012 silver Toyota Camry and demanded the keys.

Winans is also a person of interest for a number of robberies throughout the New Orleans Metropolitan area.

He is described as a light-complexioned black man with freckles on his face and a large tattoo on his neck. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 504-816-3000 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association (MOBSA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
