LAROSE, LA (WVUE) - A Larose woman is in jail accused of stealing a relative's credit card and checks and making purchases.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested Lacie Cheramie, 34 on Friday, August 19.
According to police, Cheramie used the victim's credit card three weeks prior to her arrest and made over $1,000 in unauthorized charges before giving the card back to the victim.
Investigators said Cheramie admitted to making the charges, and said she intended to payback her relative.
She also admitted to taking several checks from the relative and using them to make purchases at a local store.
Investigators also learned that Cheramie forged seven checks totaling nearly $1,000.
Cheramie was booked her with seven counts of forgery, unauthorized use of an access card as theft, and misdemeanor theft. Her bond is set at $11,000.
