NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Today we have seen more coverage as tropical moisture has been moving in from the east.
Tomorrow for Saints Friday, high pressure should quickly return, giving us another breather from showers for the end of the week. Over the weekend, more rounds of moisture are expected and could increase rain chances again, but we can still plan on many dry hours.
Hurricane Gaston is expected to remain over the open waters of the Central Atlantic and not bother us. However, we are watching a broad area of low pressure northwest of Puerto Rico - Invest 99. The system is likely to develop further as it approaches the Bahamas by the end of the week.
It's too early to say where the tropical disturbance will track, but South Florida is monitoring it very closely. If it does develop and enter the Gulf of Mexico, it would be early next week.
