NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The search continues for two men who were on board a plane that crashed into Lake Pontchartrain Saturday night.
All morning the New Orleans Fire Department blaze boat has been combing this area of Lake Pontchartrain hoping to find the two men who along with a woman, crashed in the Cessna plane.
After the crash, which happened around 9 p.m. Saturday, the female passenger was picked up by a private yacht and then transported to a nearby hospital. Her condition is unknown right now.
They say the plane was trying to land during training exercises when it crashed into Lake Pontchartrain with the three passengers on board.
Some 19 hours after the crash, the NOFD says divers located the plane about 1,000 feet west of the Lakefront Airport runway where it was supposed to land.
The two missing men have not been identified, but the NOFD says we should be able to learn more about them as recovery efforts progress.
