NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Sixty-five percent of city streets are in poor condition or even worse. That's according to a report just released by the City of New Orleans.
The group "Fix My Streets" received the report this morning during a meeting with city leaders.
The pavement analysis found it would take $5 billion to re-pave all streets in the city in poor condition. It would also take about $35 million a year for routine road maintenance.
The volunteers who make up "fix my streets" say they'd like to see a master plan for how to address this problem in the immediate future and for future administrations.
No final decisions were made today regarding where the money will come from.
