NOPD searches for suspect in attempted Rally's robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating two armed robberies.

The first incident occurred just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of South Derbigny Street and Jackson Avenue.

The victim, a 52-year-old man, was approached by two black males, one armed with a shotgun.

The suspects demanded his property and fled in possession of the victim’s lighter, two cell phones, and change.

The second incident occurred just before 4:30 a.m. in the 3200 block South Carrollton Avenue.

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was leaving work when she was approached from behind by a suspect described as a black male armed with a gun.

The suspect told the victim to open the door to the Rally’s restaurant so he could get money from the register.

When the victim was unable to open the door the suspect fled in possession of the victim’s purse.
