NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Here's a music trivia question, can you name the band that beat Kanye West for "Best New Artist" at the 2005 Grammy's? Wait, someone beat Kanye West for "Best New Artist"? Yes and they've turned out to be pretty good themselves, the giant killers are, Maroon 5.

Next Monday the Grammy-winning pop hit wonders arrive at the Smoothie King Center for their "V" tour making its way across America.

Since breaking out of Los Angeles with their debut "Songs About Jane" Maroon 5 has cranked out five top 10 albums and 11 top 10 hits according to Billboard Magazine. The band says it has sold 17 million albums worldwide.

Two of their big hits off of the "Songs About Jane" album, showcase a band playing various extremes like the semi-rocking "Harder to Breathe" to the tender ballad, "She Will Be Loved".

Frontman and reality star Adam Levine leads the band with their unique blend of rock and R&B. There's no bigger example of that than the 2010 whistle grooving smash "Moves Like Jagger" from their third album "Hands All Over." The worldwide smash is an homage to the Rolling Stones legend, Mick Jagger and sold 8.5 million copies.

2012 saw the band release its fourth album "Overexposed" which climbed to number two on the charts and includes the number one hit, "One More Night".

Two summers ago Maroon 5 released its fifth album appropriately titled "V" which debuted at number one on the charts. Their single "Sugar" has also been another hit and the video has been viewed nearly 1.5 billion times!

Opening for Maroon 5 is Tove Lo and R. City. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
