Suspect with sticky fingers wanted for theft inside a bank

If you ever need a reminder to never leave your cell phone unattended, this is is.  A customer of the Capital One Bank in the 4100 Canal Street walked away from the teller's counter and forgot to pick up the cell phone.  Before the customer could retrieve it, it was already gone.

The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance locating the thief after obtaining surveillance video from inside the bank.   The video shows the suspect taking the phone off the counter and fleeing.  From the picture, it's difficult to tell whether the suspect is a man or a woman, and the NOPD couldn't confirm the gender.

The theft happened a  little after 9 a.m. on August 17, 2016, If you have any information regarding this incident please contact Detective Roger Caillouet or any Third District detective at 658-6030 or Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.  You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500 for the information leading only to the arrest. You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward but you must contact Crimestoppers directly with your information.
