LSU fans head to Lambeau Field to watch their Tigers

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - LSU fans are flocking to Louis Armstrong International Airport this morning to spend their Labor Day weekends in Wisconsin.

30,000 are expected to show up tomorrow at Lambeau Field when the Tigers take on the Wisconsin Badgers.

Some very excited LSU fans are bursting at the opportunity to just see Lambeau Field let alone watch their beloved Tigers play there.

The purple and gold faithful started arriving early this morning to catch their flights. Many will be making a whole weekend trip out of this game.

Many people who flew out yesterday were actually greeted with beads at the Green Bay airport, a small touch of home.

The fans say they're expecting some rivalry but are hopeful they'll be welcomed to Wisconsin with open arms.

Many say making this trip, was a no-brainer.

"I'm an alumni and season ticket holder but I don't make it to too many away games but this time it's Lambeau," said Sam Stevens.

"The Tigers play in a lot of different places but this is really an historic NFL stadium and you don't really get that opportunity," said Randy Wagner.
