LAPLACE, LA (WVUE) - Officials in St. John the Baptist Parish have issued a boil water advisory in Laplace following a water outage, Saturday. Parish officials say that the outage began at 7:30 p.m. and affected all customers in Laplace who receive parish water. The outage was due to work being done to repair a leak to a main water line, according to parish officials.
Officials say that water has been restored, and that that the boil water advisory will be in effect until further notice. Customers are asked to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to consuming or using the water to cook.
Water samples will be tested in Baton Rouge and parish officials are anticipating getting the results of the tests back by Tuesday or Wednesday.
We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
