Police seek man wanted for armed robbery, kidnapping, assault

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an incident that involved armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. The incident occurred Friday at 9:15 a.m. The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Shawn Moore.

According to police, Moore and an accomplice are believed to have entered a man's vehicle as he was sitting in a parking lot near the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and American Street. Moore and the accomplice then ordered the victim to drive to several ATM's and withdraw money. As they continued to order the man to drive around they passed three people who were walking on Dwyer Road near Crowder Road. Police say that Moore is believed to have leaned out of one of the car's windows while firing several shots from a handgun. The victim pleaded for his life and the suspects let him get out of the vehicle. The suspects then fled down Dwyer Road in the victim's vehicle. The vehicle was found a short time later.

The investigation into the incident continues. Detectives are working to identify the accomplice. Police say that Moore is considered armed and dangerous.
