(WVUE) - Tropical moisture will be slow to exit the area over the next 24 hours. As a result, Chief Meteorologist David Bernard says storms are likely to stick around into Tuesday. By Tuesday evening, drier air will begin moving into the area ending the rain from the east to the west.
The rest of the week looks mostly dry with little, if any rain. Plenty of sun means highs well into the 90s with the heat index hovering around 105 degrees at times.
A tropical wave in the Caribbean has a low chance for development over the next 5 days. However, by the weekend, the northern end of the wave may bring a little moisture back into the area. This would increase our rain chances slightly. Right now, it appears the bulk of the wave stays well to our south.
