Mars rover replica to visit UNO

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A half-sized model of the Curiosity Rover that's exploring mars is coming to the University of New Orleans.

Visitors will see the 10 science instruments, including a laser that can analyze rocks, and the robotic arm that drills to collect soil samples.

The exhibit will be open on the following schedule:

  • UNO faculty, staff and students: Thursday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 23, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • School groups, grades 6-12, that register in advance: Thursday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • General public: Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
