Two killed in separate River Ridge shootings

RIVER RIDGE, LA (WVUE) -

Jefferson Parish authorities are investigating two fatal River Ridge shootings that happened only hours apart.

According to the Jefferson Parish sheriff’s department, the latest shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Marion Court, near Jefferson Highway.

Deputies say they found a 41-year-old man unresponsive inside a 1996 GMC pickup truck. He suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not have a motive or a suspect.

Just hours before that, one man was killed and a teenager was wounded.

That shooting happened on Bengal road near Jefferson Highway.

The man died and the teen is recovering this morning.
