METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a Metairie father for allegedly punching his son's football coach over a lack of playing time.
Lance Faucheux, 46, was booked Tuesday with battery of a schoolteacher or an athletic official, according to a report by Nola.com | The Times-Picayune.
The scuffle happened at Wally Pontiff Jr. Playground during practice of a 7- and 8-year-olds football team on Monday.
Faucheux wanted to talk to the coach about his son's playing time. The discussion turned into an argument and then ended with the upset father punch the coach in the jaw, according to the report.
Other coaches had to separate Faucheux who continued to try and fight. He left with his son.
The coach contacted the JPSO. A deputy met with Faucheux and took him into custody, the report said. Faucheux was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. He was released Tuesday on $1,000 bond.
Faucheux was suspended from all Jefferson Parish Recreational Department facilities until he speaks to administrators.
