NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Some scientists think they have proof it's possible to create babies without eggs one day.

They say they've found success creating healthy baby mice by tricking sperm into believing they were fertilizing normal eggs. They did not use normal eggs during the experiment. Instead, they used what they call pseudo-embryos. Pseudo-embryos share much in common with ordinary cells.

Researchers think their experiment suggests women can be removed from the baby-making process in the distant future.

You can read more about their experiment in Nature Communications.
