ELMWOOD, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish will be receiving almost $29 million in FEMA grant money to help prevent future flood damage.
FEMA approved four of the parish's applications.
The money will be used to rebuild 36 homes or other structures and to elevate 115 more.
FEMA awards the grants to projects that address properties with multiple flood insurance claims in the past.
