Grant helps MS flood victims

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The first $50,000 of a grant to help flood victims in Mississippi reaches Wilkinson County the week of Sept. 19. The money will be used to buy materials and supplies to repair flood-damaged homes.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency announced plans to help flood victims across the state with a $250,000 grant. Mississippi damage totals from August's flooding event fell short of the threshold for FEMA disaster assistance.
