WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Mount Hermon Water District of Washington Parish issued a boil water advisory Thursday night.
W. B. Estes, president of the water district, said the decision was made after a drop in water pressure occurred in some areas when a contractor broke a water line on Highway 438.
The affected areas are North of Silver Creek, specifically along Highway 438, Highway 1055, River Road, Bill Simmons Road, Holmesville Road and Frankie Miller Road.
The boil water advisory does not affect the Mount Hermon School. Affected customers should boil their water for 1 minute prior to consumption.
The advisory will stay in effect until water samples can be collected and analyzed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
Samples will be collected Friday. If the tests come back safe, the boil water advisory could be dropped Saturday afternoon.
