HARVEY, LA (WVUE) - A man shot Thursday afternoon has died from his wounds, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department.
On Thursday around 1:20 p.m., Jefferson Parish deputies responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Alex Kornman Boulevard in Harvey.
The victim, identified as Kendrick Ussin, 20, of the 3200 Wall Boulevard in Harvey was found lying in the front room of an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Ussin was taken to University Hospital where he underwent surgery. He later died from his wounds.
Homicide investigators learned Ussin was sitting outside when an unidentified suspect, described as a black male with a dark complexion, approached the victim and fired several shots at him.
Ussin managed to run to the apartment where he was found and collapsed.
Investigators have not yet learned the motive for the shooting or have any suspects.
