Multiple sources have confirmed to WAFB that LSU has fired head football coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, less than 24 hours after an 18-13 loss at Auburn.
Miles was in his 12th season as the Tigers' head coach with a record of 114 wins and 34 losses, but had not taken an LSU team to an SEC Championship game since the 2011 season that ended in a BCS title game loss to Nick Saban and Alabama.
Ed Orgeron, who guided USC successfully to a winning season as an interim head coach after the Trojans fired Lane Kiffin, has been promoted to interim head coach at LSU. The Tigers (2-2) dropped out of the national rankings on Sunday, September 25 after being ranked No. 5 in the nation in the preseason, with 17 returning starters and host Missouri on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
