LSU students react to Les Miles firing

BATON ROUGE (WAFB) -

Students gave their thoughts on the firing of Les Miles and Cam Cameron.

Most agree that it was a good move, not necessarily because the two men are bad coaches, but because they just believe it was time for a change.

“I don't know much, but I mean, we haven't been doing too good,” said Junior Madison Casey. “I'm not saying, I don't know if it's all his fault or not, but I mean, I guess changing it up could increase our chances of winning."

"Things needed to be changed. The offense wasn't really producing and things were just being real stagnant, and Les Miles had a good run at LSU, but I think everyone, every great coach has its time, and I think his time is now and I think it's time to move on to a new coach,” said Junior Ryan Zumo.

"Mostly I've been frustrated with our ability not to really score the ball,” said sophomore Kameron Williams. “I'm kind of excited to see what they're planning on doing, you know, seeing what the new guy is gonna' do, see what's gonna' happen. Hopefully, I just wanna' see us win. That's what LSU football is all about."

"I think any time there's that big of a lack of production on the offensive side of the ball, really the only person that you can look towards is the offensive coordinator,” said senior Trevor Stewart. “So I don't necessarily think that was a bad move either."

Students also said they’re excited to see what interim head coach Ed Orgeron will do, but a few said they’re a little cautious because Orgeron is a defensive-minded coach, and LSU has struggled on offense.
