Lakeview auto burglars got away with law enforcement credentials

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department needs your help finding two men they say rummaged through an unlocked car in the 5800 block of General Haig Street.

Investigators say it happened in Saturday, September 24 at 4:45 a.m.  They have surveillance video that shows two men burglarizing the vehicle in Lakeview.

Police say the two men got away with a firearm and law enforcement credentials from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office.

The NOPD reminds citizens not to leave firearms in their vehicles and to always lock their doors.
