Houma man arrested, accused of hitting woman in head with hammer

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Houma Police arrested a man for allegedly hitting a woman in the head with a hammer. 

Police said the first incident happened just before 8 a.m. on Sept. 24. 

A woman came into the police station saying a man hit her in the head in the parking lot of the police station. 

Police arrested Henry Wiltz, 30, of Houma. 

The injured woman also told police that Wiltz had earlier approached a car she was in,confronted her and three other women about a previous run-in and started smashing out windows. 

Police booked Wiltz with second degree battery, driving without a license, aggravated battery, aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault. 

All three women sustained minor to moderate injuries, with one actually being struck somewhat with the hammer as police said Wiltz busted the windows.

The victim who was hit with the hammer was treated at the hospital and released.
