NOPD investigates two armed robberies, one arrested

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating two Monday armed robberies. An arrest was made in one of the incidents.

According to initial reports, the first incident occurred just after 5 a.m. in the 500 block Canal Street.

The arrested suspect, 33-year-old Yhanna Adams and another woman pulled a knife on the victim, a 53—year-old man, and robbed the victim of his property.

One woman fled the location while Adams was detained by hotel security staff.

The next incident occurred just after 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carrollton Avenue.

A suspect entered the CVS pharmacy location, pulled a weapon, and demanded money from the registers.

The suspect then fled with money taken from both registers inside of the business.
