Saints' psyche good despite 0-3 start

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Three games. Three losses by a grand total of 17 points. Yes, the Saints are close. Just don't assume they're better than their record shows.

"We're 0-3," Zach Strief said. "That's not like a real unique situation to be in. It's not like 'we're 0-3 but we were right there.' That's how 0-3 teams are in this
league usually are."

But losing, despite being so close, can start to wear on a team mentally. This is a young Saints team in many spots. However, veterans  insist that mindset has not crept into this locker room.

"I believe our heads are in the right place," Drew Brees said. "The fact that we are in a short week just means that we're on the field faster. Last week seemed like it took forever. This week is going to get here before you know it."

"We're still good," Kenny Vaccaro said. "We got 13 more games. There's been plenty of teams that climb out the hole. I think this next game is either you in a crater or you're in a rut right now. so we need to get a win."
