NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Diamonds are a girls best friend and Adele can toast twice on that note.

Her album "25" officially reaches diamond status. The Recording Industry Association of America reported that her third album sold more than 10 million copies as of last Tuesday. Those records sold are just from the United States alone.

The singing powerhouse has managed to hit diamond-status two times in a row. The first time was for the album "21" which had mega hits like "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in the Deep." It took Adele two years to reach diamond status for "21" but less than a year for her most recent album "25".

Adele is currently on her North American tour which runs through November 21st.

"The Lion King" Remake

Walt Disney Studios announced it will team up with director Jon Favreau for a live remake of "The Lion King."

The company made it official on Twitter Wednesday saying it will re-imagine the classic in a way similar to "The Jungle Book" that debuted in April.

In addition to the "The Jungle Book", the new "Lion King" will join "Cinderella," "Maleficent," and the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast" as part of Disney's iconic characters turned live action films.

"No Worries" though, the remake will include music from the original.

According to Disney, "The Lion King" is one of the biggest animated films of all time with a global box office of $968.8 million.

The new project does not have a release date as of yet.
