St. Tammany pleads guilty in firefighter's killing, gets life in prison

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - A St. Tammany parish man pled guilty to killing a firefighter five years ago and hiding his body in the trunk of a car.

The St. Tammany Parish District Attorney's office said Michael Lizana, 38,  was facing the death penalty on a first-degree murder charge.

Lizana was set to stand trial in January, but he will spend life in prison after his plea.
