NOPD investigating 3 separate shootings

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating three separated shootings that happened in less than 12 hours.

The first shooting happened at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6600 block of Belgrade Street.

According to the victim, he was playing basketball at the park when several subjects got into an argument. The victim says he was trying to break up the argument when an unknown person pulled out a gun and fired a shot, striking the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by private conveyance.

The second shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. at the corner of Piety Street and Dreux Avenue.

Police say a 55-year-old man was walking home when he saw three people running out of a house.

According to the man he then heard gunshots and discovered he was shot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The third shooting happened just after midnight at the intersection of Oliver White Avenue and Treasure Street.

According to police, a 17-year-old male was walking in the area when he heard gunshots. The teen suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

All three shootings are currently under investigation.
