NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police say that a teen reported missing late Saturday night has been located in good health. Ifunanya "Vivian" Anaekwe, 16, was reported missing from Gentilly around 11:30 p.m.
According to police, Anaekwe was attending an African party at Southern University of New Orleans' Conference Center, located in the 6400 block of Press Drive. Anaekwe reportedly used social media to invite two unknown men, to meet her outside the party. Anaekwe's sister informed police that Anaekwe and her friend were supposed to go for a ride with the two men in a black four-door vehicle. The friend never left with the two men but Anaekwe did. When her sister called her cell phone and asked for her location, Anaekwe said that she was on her way back.
The sister tried to contact Anaekwe again but the phone was turned off. Police say that Anaekwe also had her friend's phone in her possession. That phone was tracked to an area near Poydras Street and turned off around midnight on Oct. 2.
Police say that officers in Picayune, MS located Anaekwe Monday around 1 a.m. She was with a man, whom she left the party with. The man, identified as 19-year-old Trevon Andrews was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
