Juan's World: Saints defense turns back Chargers

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Welcome into Juan's World where I'm pondering this. Seven minutes, three turnovers. It's the kind of script that losing teams usually follow. And they did. San Diego did. Not the Saints. They were the ones putting together these kind of late-game heroics.

In San Diego on Sunday, the Saints defense rose up and shut down the Chargers offense. It all happened in the games final seven minutes. Three Charger turnovers leading to two Saints touchdowns and a New Orleans win. Their first win of the season. And all of a sudden, the bye week doesn't seem so dreadful after-all.

Pump the brakes. It's only one win but when you consider that the teams current 1-3 record leaves them in a three-way tie for second in the NFC south, you like the position you're in.

Aside from Atlanta, who jolted the Panthers on Sunday, every other team, the Buccaneers, Panthers and Saints all look the same.

The Falcons have a two game lead in the division. But, there are still 12 games to play. There's a ton of football left to play.

But, for once, doesn't it feel good to be a Saints fan right now? It's amazing what "ONE' win can do for 'everyone' involved.

Juan's World, Juan's World...Excellent!!

Alvin Kamara did it all last season for Sean Payton's offense, and that's why he's No. 2 on our ranking the Saints countdown. Kamara burst onto the scene, mesmerized saints fans, and the entire NFL with his unique running style. His stat line, amazing: 728 yards rushing, averaged over six yards per carry, with  eight touchdowns. He also added 81 catches with five touchdowns. All the while playing just 45 percent of the Saints offensive snaps. Kamara ran away with the NFL's Off...more>>
