NOPD arrest a woman in connection with Algiers shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The NOPD made an arrest Monday in connection with a shooting in Algiers.

According to police, the shooting happened about 10 a.m Sunday morning in the 5700 block of Tullis Drive. Police said 31-year-old Dalencia Allen and a male friend knocked on the door of the victim, who is a neighbor of Allen’s.

Allen and her neighbor had been involved in a verbal altercation over a parking spot at their apartment complex. Police said Allen’s friend questioned the victim about the incident and then shot the victim.

Both fled the scene. Allen ran back to her apartment in the complex. Her male friend was seen fleeing in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Police are still looking for the male in this incident.

Police later arrested Allen at her apartment. She was booked with being a principal to aggravated battery.
